Can someone tell me about the Hutton Honors College? My son received an invitation to HHC, and I'm sure he will join, but I don't really understand what it is. Does it make you eligible for different honors classes than other students, or is it mostly for EC activities. I already looked up info on the website, but I'm looking for some input from current or former students- what are the real benefits of joining this program?

It does allow you to take special honors classes. Honors students also get priority in class sheduling, if I remember correctly and special advisors in the Honors College. There are also EC activities, particularly if you choose to live in the Honors dorm, as my son did his freshman year. Besides that, I don't know a lot about it, since my son was not terribly involved in it.

Admission to Hutton basically means you can take additional honors courses that are offered exclusively through Hutton. From what I've experienced, these courses are interesting, and as long as you do the work satisfactorily, grade inflation takes its course and you should end up with an A.

For me, all I had to do was fill out the application and you're automatically in, regardless of the actual quality of your application. They read the essays and everything in order to give out money.
