Hw Important is Research

Hi
I'm from india planning to do MS in computer science(Currently im in d sophomore year of my electronincs and instrumentation Engg course) I wanted to enquire abt a few things:

Firstly, since i want to go to graduate school right after college, how imp is d research experience- I'll most probably end up with 2 summer training programs with good companies and one project which we are supposed to do in d senior year. Is that enough or i need to do something more??

Also i'v read somewhere that Masters students are used only as cash cows and getting funding for a master's degree is very difficult: that too for an intl applicant. Is that true???

The short answer to your question is research experience is useful but usually won't matter much in the admission for those terminal/professional masters programs. Yes, masters-level funding is extremely limited for international students. A better strategy (if you really need aids) is to make yourself competitive for admission to PhD programs, do your required works to earn a masters and then quit. Should you pursue the later route, you will want to complement your industry experience (2 summer internships) with some solid research experience.
