Hypothetical situation involving SAT (fantastic score and atrocious score)

<p>I understand that colleges ultimately look for great SAT scores all around, because they want someone who is well-rounded, but I wonder...<br>
Say your major was to be almost exclusively math-related, and you didn't do fantastically on the verbal section, but aced the math... would top universities still consider you (based solely on that one high score)?</p>

<p>P.S. My situation is most-likely going to be the exact opposite of my little scenario, as I'm horrible at math. lol.</p>

<p>800M is significantly lower percentile than a 800V, so you'd be better off with the 800V</p>

<p>Thanks. I just wonder if they automatically see a total score that isn't the best it could possible be and look over an individual score that is actually way above average.</p>
