<p>For those of you who've never shared a dorm before, and don't exactly relish the idea of living with a perfect stranger, what is the ONE thing your future roommate can do to set you off?</p>
<p>Now as for me, I feel that I have a relatively high tolerance for certain things. Dirty clothes, loud music, a messy room - all things I can deal with. However, let me find just ONE used condom on the floor! When I imagine the worst possible thing my roommate could do, that's what it is. Hopefully none of you will end up with nasty people. And hopefully none of YOU are nasty.</p>
<p>Anyone who tried to organize my stuff would drive me crazy. I'm a pretty messy person, but I can always find everything. If you put me with someone who tried to change my system I think I would lose my mind.</p>
<p>i'm scared to death of my roommate stealing my stuff. i mean, most kids aren't kleptos, but you can only fit so much stuff into the lockable drawer!</p>
<p>Somebody who leaves food and food wrappers all over the room and only cleans them up once a semester (can you say mold?)
One of my friends had a roommate like this and had I been in that situation, I would've moved into the hallway (at least until the 2nd week of classes when we were allowed to apply for roommate changes)</p>
<p>Oh my suitemates stunk. ANd one time the odor started to travel to my room so I got fed up and went into his room and was like, "Seriously wheres the dead baby or did you take a **** in your bed?" It ends up it was his nail polish remover b/c he decided about a week prior that he was Bam Margera (blech spelling but the guy from Jackass). He also cleaned the plunger in the shower. ***?!</p>
<p>The worst thing for me was to be rude for no reason and not tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. If you don't like me or something I do, tell me don't just be uncivil b/c that won't solve anything. Also I need people to talk and my roommate never talked me ever and would end conversations while we were talking to play computer games.</p>
<p>So now after a year my #1 peeve is gaming. I hate gamers. (no offense but it was really bad)</p>
<p>Poison.ivy, you and I would probably not make good roommates then. It would drive me crazy for you to reorganize my stuff because I know where it all is when I put it together, even though it isn't the neatest system in the world. If my stuff is reorganized so that it is neat I can't find anything which drives me bananas.</p>
<p>yeah having sex in my bed would drive me insane. i also am fairly clean, in that i dont have food wrappers and food lying around on the floor. i would not like that. also, i really hope i dont have to have the awkward circumstance of a roommate who has a significant other around all the time.</p>
<p>Illini: What exactly did you hate about living with gamers.</p>
<p>I'm a mild gamer (PC, maybe they were console) and I wouldnt want to upset my roommate. I can see if I constantly played with the volume up and he just heard lots of bangs and other people talking but if I wear headphones it would just be me sitting at the desk.</p>
<p>Maybe I'm not a hardcore enough gamer to annoy people with it.</p>
<p>throwing up in the room is kinda ridiculous... and I definitely know people who have done it. A kid on my floor knocked on my door one sunday around noon, and is like "can u help me /w something?" and I was like "yea", so we go to his room, and he lifts up the desk while I pull the carpet out from under it, b/c someone threw up on the night before, and he had no idea who it was.</p>
<p>and then I have another friend who threw up in her room on her roommate's birthday...</p>
<p>moranda... I'm the overly conscientious roomate and I would probably bug you.</p>
<p>Having sex in the room or in my bed WHILE I'M THERE.</p>
<p>Smoking anything... have bad asthma AND can't stand the smell AND aren't dorms smoke free?!?!</p>
<p>Leaving food/trash wouldn't bother me that much because I'd probably just clean up the crap for her. If she complained about it then I'd get irate.</p>
