<p>So if you were a guy and your best friend was a girl...or vice versa do you think it could work out? I mean like staying best friends over time.</p>

<p>It's sort of random and probably applies to more than college life but I am curious to know what others opinions are on this. Most people tell me that a guy should have good guy friends and you can never be the same way with someone of the opposite gender but I don't really know how true that is. Is it possible to maintain a close friendship with the opposite gender?</p>

<p>Absolutely. One of my best friends is a guy, and we’ve been really good friends since the 4th grade (we’re college freshmen now).</p>

<p>Yeah. At some point all of my close guy friends have tried to go down the ‘I think I might like you’ path, but you just say no thanks and life goes on.</p>
