Hypothetically, which colleges would you go to?

Amherst
Carleton
Middlebury
W&M
Vanderbilt
Colgate
Bowdoin
Colby
Hamilton
Wisconsin-distant last

I just picked somewhat at random:

Bowdoin

Middlebury

Carleton/Colgate

Amherst

Colby (this is the one i don't know much about)

Will&Mary

Vanderbilt

Hamilton

Wisconsin

I really don't understand why Wisc was included in this list of preppy, mostly east coast, liberal arts oriented schools. An attempt at diversity? Hehe... Never thought Wisc would be on the other end of the diversity stick.

All jokes aside, Wisconsin is the only one that has my major (nursing) and has the most options for other students to explore their interests.

My second choices would be Colgate and Middlebury for their foreign language programs.

William & Mary(awesome academics, perfect size, mix of nerds/jocks, beautiful campus)
Middlebury(amazing academics, good social aspects, awesome campus)
Colgate (same...good athletics)
Wisconsin (great school if your looking for the big-school college life,
Vanderbilt (good size, athletics, Tennesse???)
Colby (sweet location, academics, pretty small...)
Amherst(too small...
Bowdoin (same as above)
Carlton (dont know much about it)
Hamilton(didn't like the feel around campus)

Colgate
Amherst
Middlebury
William & Mary
Vandy
Wisconsin
Colby
Bowdoin
Carlton
Hamilton

Okay, dude, nice list of schools - mine is similar

Amherst - freaking powerhouse

Middlebury - beautiful

Carleton - midwestern - no problem

Colgate - underrated by alot

Colby - greatest campus ever

Bowdoin - a lil to hippie

William and Mary

Hamilton - not at all as good as Colgate - unfortuante location

Wisconsin - i assume safety school?

Amherst

Colgate

Hamilton

William and Mary

Middlebury

Carleton

Bowdoin

Colby

Wisconsin

Vanderbilt

I'm amazed that someone could list Middlebury above Amherst and claim this to be because Amehrst is "too small". Amherst is in a vibrant community of 25,000+ students, not rural Vermont. I'm not a Middlebury student but I'd bet my bottom dollar that it feels ten times more claustropobic as Amherst.

Same here, but interestingly enough, I did not apply to Amherst or anywhere else on the list. Now, I regret not applying to Amherst - it happens.

Vanderbilt
William and Mary
Bowdoin
Middlebury
Wisconsin
Amherst
Colgate
Carlton
Colby
Hamilton

haha venkater u dotn kinow ur LACs

Tourguide, hwo can u justify putting midd tehn wiscosn inan amherst (doesnt amke sense)

I try not to let US News' rankings tell me which college I prefer to another. And get a freakin' dictionary.

im jsut saying, nothing to do with USNEWWS but middlebury and amherst are pretty clsoe in everythign - unlike wisconsin

One, Middlebury (especially when I was applying) was also borderline too small for me, but Amherst at the time was even smaller at ~ 400 students per class. Two, I really wanted a rural school, and wasn't concerned about a 'vibrant community with 25,000 students'. Amherst is still only ~ 1,800 students now and the impression I get from friends that went there was that they had minimal contact with students from other the colleges in the area.

middlebury is amaing - i can understand gellino

yup....2rd bestin my opinion ahah

Princeton

Yale

Harvard

Williams

im nto applyign to any of thsoe
