<p>Hi, I'm from central Illinois and am a graduating senior. I am fairly certain that i will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Material Sciences and Engineering, but i would like you opinions because i am curious.
With these credentials, what is the best school that i would likely get into for some form of engineering? (Also I am a white male, and yes i know my extra-curriculars aren't the greatest, but i was training for football year round)</p>

<p>Rank: 7 of 216 (would've been 1st in past 2 classes)
GPA: 5.635 (5 point scale, honors/AP points added)
ACT: Math - 36
Science - 35
English - 34
Reading - 33
Composite - 35
(didn't take SAT because i was fairly certain about going to Illinois)
Classes: Junior - 3 honors and AP Chem (5 on test)
Senior- Econ honors, AP Calc, AP Bio, and AP Physics (A's in all)</p>

<p>Other: Worked for 3 years in summer as corn pollinator
Spanish Honor Society
National Honor Society (Sergeant at Arms)
National Merit Commended
Football (4 years)
Track (4 years)
Regional and Sectional Champ of WYSE in Math and Chemistry (World Youth in Science and Engineering)
Went on 2 different mission trips, each a week long
Math Team
Helped Physics class (23 students) raise 11,442 non-perishable food items in a week
I have three teachers, and multiple coaches who would all right great recommendations

<p>So my friends keep telling me that with a 35 on my ACT, i could go anywhere, and I keep arguing that that is not nearly enough. It did start me wondering though as to what i could get into with a high test score, decent GPA, and low extracurriculars. So if someone would respond it would be excellent.</p>

<p>(also that was supposed to be “write” not “right” in the second to last line. There goes the 35 in English… lol)</p>

<p>You have a shot of getting into any school IF you apply, none if you don’t. Apply to Notre Dame!! You have a shot. I don’t know about Cal-Tech but…</p>

<p>I believe you have a shot of getting into any great school…just as much as anyone else. Get moving on those apps.</p>
