Hypothetically...

Cornell is really a longshot for me but I am going to apply just for the heck of it. One question first: does Cornell require an interview? If not, does going for an interview help significantly?

Stats:
-white (damn) male (damn) at strong private college prep school in MN
-GPA 3.88 UW all possible AP and honors classes taken
-just took the ACT for the first time, got a 30, all said and done I hope to be in the 32-34 range after prep and studying (probably closer to 32)

ECs

-football 4 years
-track 4 years
-volunteer corps 4 years (300 hours of service)
-math league 4 years
-I might found a marketing club
-started a book drive program for a hospital, very successful, across multiple churches
-peer ministry next year as senior (only open to seniors, possible leadership?)
-only student in my grade selected to go to this leadership forum thing

EDIT: oh yeah, I'm in NHS too.

Thanks.

cornell does not require an interview and the interview can only help you, but it doesnt count significantly. some students are able to get alumni interviews…ie just an opportunity to learn more about cornell and ask some questions

good luck!

anyone else?

Hmm, a bit of a reach, but definitely apply, you have a chance.

What school within Cornell are you applying to and what for?
