If your parents donate $1 million dollars to the university, you're in! Works like magic, according to some.

1360 and 3.7 GPA... If you raised the SAT a bit, I think you could get in with a minor hook. Otherwise, try getting recruited as an athlete or doing something like writing a book on quantam mechanics. :-p

^ haha BUbbles for sale...i dont think its dat much man. a millioon bux?!! dats just nutz. a good essay and a hook dat shows YOU will get u in.

Ivies might be tough, but nothing should keep you from trying. Your rater low end of test scores and GPA can actually be bumped with good EC's, which many ivies put a great amount of value on.

Leadership roles, a productive summer, good Essay is the only thing you can really count on now. Esp. the Essay.

I have a 1350, 3.9 UW, 4 APs this year. Im an int'l, did only 3 years of HS (skipped 10th), did each year in different schools between norway and south korea. Im also of indian ethnicity...

-Started my own company
-Professional research

Im applying next year Princeton ED with the following "hooks"

-Started my own company
-Professional research
-multicultural background/country hopping.
- published book
- more research, possibly published
- patented traffic regulation machine

of course higher SATs (2200 + and 750+ in SAT IIs hopefully)

Hooks dont seem to carry all that much weight unless the colleges see something super special in them....
