Another research internship coming up this summer - hopefully get Siemens/Intel STS

what do you guys think? Am i just another slightly math/sci oriented asian who's going to be slaughtered in the admissions process?

You have all the test scores and basic ec’s to possibly get into hypsm and wharton. Now just work really hard on one thing that will make u stand out. Also, do you ever get volunteering hours?

^ i did do volunteering throughout high-school, but it wasn’t a main focus (only about 100 hrs. total to date).

do u think research/science is the one thing that will make me stand out(like if i get get finalist for siemens/intel)?

Definitely. Getting an award through siemens/intel science would be huge. I personally think if you were very successful with that, you would be accepted to most of the schools you are hoping for. So if you feel you could do great in the science fair, then really focus on that. If that doesn’t work out, just make sure there is something else that makes you stand out.

Looks like a pretty generic list of clubs to me. You’re gonna need that STS if you want to get in (especially for MIT)

Your stats look pretty stellar; there isn’t too much more you could possibly do, but it still doesn’t guarantee you a slot in Wharton or HYPSM. . .I have a friend who was valedictorian at our school, had a 2340 and 35, and his ECs were basically identical to yours (he also did research and founded a club, but he did over 1000 hours of volunteering), and he was waitlisted at all schools in HYPS

If you are a finalist for intel you can basically go anywhere… that is top 40 in the nation. Semifinalist is also very very good. Our school had 14 semifinalists this year and all of them went to Ivies/MIT/Stanford I believe. Also Intel won’t help you get into wharton, to get there you should show previous business interest.
