I’m a mistakes prone person… I utterly fail at the SAT I type standardized tests. Hopefully the MATH II 800 and my math APs would make up for that? I mean math is definitely not my weak subject… and that High school contest in math modeling is an international award.

@Hannibalxx - your an idiot. no further elaboration.

^ I agree.

As for you, GreedIsGood, it’s “you’re,” not “your.” http://i25.■■■■■■■.com/2vj4ikh.jpg

^
Grammar Nazi alert?

Either you’re lying about being in an Ivy League school or you got in before they introduced the Writing section and have taken 7 years to graduate because you could not possibly get a good Writing score with grammatical errors as blatant as the one in the following sentence:
“every asian i know from an ivy league… have 800 in math”

Also, I would like to say that any information on this site should be taken with a grain of salt. Many people here aren’t in college and the people that are most likely aren’t admissions officers. Usually, though, the information is generally true.

^ Yes. Not only am I a Grammar Nazi, but I am also a Nazi.

^
Great. Just thought I would let you know, your last sentence has a grammatical error. ;)

“Yes. Not only am I a Grammar Nazi, but also I am a Nazi.”

I like Grammar Nazi-ing Grammar Nazis.

^ There is no such grammatical error.

Either way is acceptable.

Hmm, I was unaware of that. Are you sure?

I remember such a question on the June SAT exam. Those two were options:
not only… but also…
not only… but… also

I picked not only… but also and got no MCs wrong in the whole test.

^Silverturtle, you are scaring me.

June SAT FTW

Why is that?

In the form not only…but also, the also can be before or after the succeeding verb and may even be omitted.

^
I’m corrected. I apologize Ambivalent… my mistake.

It is okay. I forgive you. Now you must forgive yourself. Thank you for the air-support, silverturtle.

Hey there, Peter.

Looks good to me. Don’t expect to get in everywhere, but I would be shocked if you got in nowhere. HPSMC collectively are a reasonable goal, but don’t get your heart set on any one of them.

If you could get to shadow a doctor for a period, that would be awesome for UCSD/Brown’s medical program. If you’re into those 8 year programs, definitely look into the Rice-Baylor 8 year program too. Baylor is one of the biggest and best medical facilities in the U.S. Your bio/med interest is pretty well defined, but it never hurts to throw on some more.

Also, don’t bother applying to any UCs except for the one or two you would want to go to if you got into all of them (unless their aid/scholarship offers are a major consideration). I guarantee you you will get into all of the UCs.

@Christiansoldier

Thanks dude, I’m applying to LA sorta as a safety, but i think thats the only 3 that i’m really considering. (UCD already gave me 3 parking tickets, they already taken my application money )
I was thinking about that Rice/Baylor program, i’ll go check it out now.

“just wanted to experience what HS had to offer”
I’m loving this quote, that’s basically what my philosophy is, I’ve just been living life and now that college apps have come up I guess I have to reflect about what I have actually done.
You seem to be in line for the big shots and should get into at least one.

By now, everyone knows to ignore Hannibal i.e. prick-■■■■■. Freezingbeast, your chances are quite, quite good. Granted, MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford, are guaranteed to be some form of reach unless your family has been going there for centuries and donated a million dollars. You certainly have strong awards backing up your EC’s, and you’ve excelled despite your financial situation. Otherwise, I see no reason you shouldn’t apply to those top schools you listed. Inevitably, you’ll get into one of the Ivies or Ivy plus.

Stanford, Princeton look like reaches (but they are for everyone). Harvard, MIT, Caltech also look like reaches or low reaches, but you have great scores and ECs. The rest looks like matches or maybe low reaches.

I agree with christiansoldier about Rice/Baylor. Rice has a great biomed/bioengineering program and Baylor is known for its medical program.
