<p>You will get a lot of different replies about this. People that are admissions will usually answer that the word count is a guideline, with some flexability. Around 500 words is just that; around 500 words. 600 words will probably not be a deal breaker, but you should try to craft your essay to more closely meet the requested criteria.</p>
