So I submitted my application to Yale a while ago (ED), and upon reviewing it now I notice that I said no to financial aid.

This is a mistake, for I do intend to pursue need-based financial aid.

I already wrote an email to admissions but I haven't received a response yet.

Do I need to call the school? What if I get in? Will I never get financial aid because of this? What do I do?

Call the school. Admissions officers don’t start reviewing the applications that quickly. You still have time.

I applied UPenn ED, and realized that I had made a similar mistake on my Common App as well (though not Financial Aid). I gave them a call, and they told me to shoot their admissions office an email and all would be fine. Granted, I still haven’t received any sort of confirmation email, so I dunno how that all worked out. I’ll probably call them again this Monday, since it’s been a week.

Call the Yale admissions office. They’ll know what to do. The admissions office is usually sympathetic to these types of mistakes, since lots of people make them. Don’t stress. Call, and all will be resolved.

Good luck.

Thank! And good luck to you too!

I think the email is fine, honestly.
