My dad oversaw my submission of my supplemental essay for Harvard/Yale, and somewhat pressured me through it. Unfortunately I did not notice that a stray comma got mixed into the essay, right next to a period. I know that I cannot change my already submitted essay, but what course of action should I take? If you need to read the essay, I'll gladly PM it to you.

You should relax and stop worrying about it. And don’t blame your dad. Stuff happens and that is really minor. Chill

I don’t blame my dad. It was my fault I didn’t look over it articulately enough. I just wanted to provide a backstory.
Honestly, what kind of effect will this have on admissions? I don’t want HY to think I’m careless just because I left an extra comma in…should I contact them?

NO!!! Do NOT contact them over a stray comma. Thats ridiculous and they will think so too. Let it go. Its not a big deal.

By the way, not sure articulately is the appropriate word above. It applies to the quality of speech, not the carefulness of rereading/proofing an essay. Just curious-- are you an international?

And I hope you didn’t choose to write about that fetish you mentioned in another thread. Bad plan.

no, just a panicking US citizen
Really, what kind of effect will this have?

None. A comma won’t make or break you, especially for the ivies.

Chill. They might not even notice it.
