anyone???

Well you are definitely on track for top schools, but with no test scores, it is too early to tell. Your PSAT was extremely low, and although you think you can achieve a 2200, this is a lot easier said than done. Your URM status is obviously going to help you a lot, so let’s not pretend it doesnt matter. Keep working hard through junior year and you should have a good shot at top schools. Best of luck.

Thanks so much for your advice

Go female URMs interested in science! Class of 2011 like myself  We actually have a lot of stats in common. (My thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/741629-chance-improvements-2011-urm.html</a>)

I agree with curious. You have really nice EC’s and a good GPA so if the test scores match you’ll be golden.

^lol. Thank you for the advice and we do have a lot in common.

bumpbumpity

You are definitely on track! Remember: junior year is the most important year, so don’t mess up your good stats :)

However, if your major is going to deal with biology, etc, then you should try involving yourself in activities that deal with these majors, as all I’ve seen are sports and helping other people out, mostly (which is good, nevertheless).

So, my advice for you is to look into a lot of biology/bioengineering/etc activities to do, and participate! You can possibly try going out for an internship or even a job, and during the summer you could enroll in an academy at one of these colleges dealing with your intended majors. If you don’t/can’t do that, then there are always community college courses to take that will not only boost your GPA, it will look good to colleges too. Also, make sure to make friends with your teachers, as you’ll need them for letters of rec haha. Hope I helped, and best of luck! :)

^thank you so much for that post. I will definitely try to find some biology focused extracurriculars. Currently at my school we have none available, so I am trying to start a science olympiad team.

bumpbumpity

anymore opinions?
