So I am committed to a school by early decision. I know I am supposed to withdraw my other applications (regular decision), but is this really necessary? That means I have to withdraw 9+ apps, which is a pain. Plus, the schools aren't replying to my emails. Can I just wait it out and everything will be fine?

Also, I am kind of curious what other schools i could have gotten into. Is curiosity a crime? :/

I emailed all of the schools I was withdrawing from. Most responded, although quite a few didn’t. But I have copies of the emails still in my sent box, and there’s nothing I can do if they choose to ignore me besides leaving the second half (ie midyear reports/transcripts) unfinished. I recieved most of my responses via email, although two schools bothered to write me a letter back. (Knox and U of Chicago, interestingly enough.)

But yeah, you do have to go through the hassle of withdrawing.

If you were accepted ED, and plan to attend that school, you should withdraw your other applications. In the event that you get accepted RD to one or more of the other schools, you will have taken a spot that could’ve gone to someone else.
