My application was shown complete on Jan.1 and on Jan.5 they gave me an AD which I found on the website.
However, the app was not complete at all. I didn't submitted my essay online.
This means they made the decision even without the essay. Is it possible that they made teh decision by mistake?

Admission Decision
CONGRATULATIONS! Drexel University is pleased to offer you admission. An official acceptance letter has been sent to you by mail.

Confirm your intent to enroll by submitting your matriculation form along with the nonrefundable $300 matriculation fee. Download the Freshman Matriculation form.

You're also eligible to pay your matriculation fee online.

Does this page means that I won't receive any scholarship from the school?

You should not rely on this message board to answer questions like this. Speak to admissions!!!!

Now that being said and knowing I am not the most qualified person to answer your question, Drexel does what they did to you all the time. They did that with me. I didn't even think I submitted the application because I did not submit the essay and I got an acceptance letter in the mail. Thought it was a mistake, but that's just how rolling admissions works. If they feel they have enough information about you to make a decision they'll do that. When I applied the essay was optional. Since then, I thought Drexel made the essay mandatory but I really don't know. Also, not submitting your essay should not have anything to do with a scholarship. I would call them to clarify everything and if they didn't give you any type of financial aid or scholarships, find out why (they may still be reviewing you for this), and send in an appeal letter as described on some of the other posts.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other additional questions you might have about Drexel!

by the way you might want to wait until your official letter arrives via the mail... i believe there should be some type of letter to tell you what scholarship and financial aid package you were awarded :-)

Yeah, same thing happened to me for my acceptance. I sent my essay and got a letter in the mail the very next day sayng I was accepted..I had applied during a visit and never sent my essay...I even got in with nearly full ride scholarship and they put me in the honors program. So obviously they didn't take the essay into consideration at all. I think there should be a separate letter with your acceptance letter about scholarships. If not, they sent me the scholarship letter several times for some reason so you might still be good.

I called an assistant who know the admission process well.(the 800 number really su*ks)
She told me that this an AD without essay is possible. When the admission officers find a student is outstanding somewhere, they would give an admission.

She helped me to check the computer system and told me that I was accepted (it's not a mistake!!!HAHAHA) and offered some scholarship which might be stated in the letter mentioned at status check. But she can't find the copy of the letter.
Then I found the email from her a few minutes later.

"Hello. I have figured out what is going on with your scholarship and why it wasn’t showing up in the system. You have just been accepted very recently so your scholarship has not been fully processed in our computer system yet. Scholarship processing can take up to 24 hours, so I will be able to let you know your scholarship award and will also email you a copy of your official letter tomorrow."

Looks like I have to wait for another 24 hours.

BTW
