I am an atheist at Pepperdine and have no problem

I noticed on some posts/discussions that people are concerned that Pepperdine is overly religious. Pepperdine is a school that is RELIGOUSLY AFFILATED. Yes, it is affiliated with church of christ, and there are many students who are church of christ. There are vastly more who aren't. I was raised catholic and are familiar with christian practices and doctrines but currently don't practice any religion actively. I'm not saying you will never once come across religion, you most likely will every day in very small cases but it is very easy not to get caught up in any of it. The infamous convocation credit everyone seems to think is church is very far from it, even though you can recieve 1 credit by attending mass if that's something you choose to take part in. A speaker comes every wednesday morning which is how most people get their credit and the speaker may touch on anything from religion to comedy to racial equality. There are many other ways to receive this credit without doing anything religious.

The bottom line is, I chose Pepperdine because of its' great reputation, brilliant professors, and startling beauty. I couldn't be happier with my decision and encourage you to not have its' affiliation turn you away from an amazing school that gives you the opportunity to do anything you want in life.
