I am an engineering major wanting to transfer from a small, Catholic college to Temple University.

I want to transfer into Temple's College of Engineering for Fall 2015, in which I will have completed two years of school at the small college I go to now.

There are many reasons why I wish to transfer, a few being the lack of quality of the program I am in now, my school's location (essentially the middle of nowhere), my general unhappiness, and a few other personal reasons.
I just wanted to know how I should proceed, as I realize I will most likely need to find off-campus housing, apply for scholarships, etc. I would also like to join the marching band to meet people and make acquaintances (something I am worried about) and earn some scholarship money as well.

Is there opportunity for engineering or science-specific work-study at Temple U? Where is the best housing to apply for?

I really have wanted to leave where I am since I got here, but some issues prevented me from doing so until now. I also am thinking of living and working in Philadelphia once I graduate, so it wouldn't be an unnecessary trip (I am from around Pittsburgh).

Thank you for reading my slightly scatterbrained question. Any advice or personal stories would help greatly!

check out The View for off campus housing, it is right next to campus. if u decide to go live on campus, i recomendd teh dorms on the southern end of campus(eg Morgan or 1300), or teh following dorms: johnson, hardwick, or 1900. Temple towers is also on south end of campus but my kid, who is in 1300, is kind of meh on Temple Towers. i will ask him about why later. i will get in touch with teh mom of a kid who is in the marching band but i know my son had lots of emials about auditioning for the marching band once he paid his deposit to go to Temple. i have no idea about transfer scholarships. get on Temple’s website and look that up. i think there are some transfer scholarships. probably on the work study question but i have no further detals. My kid is enjoying both Temple and philly.
