hey i am below a colleges median 50% or 25th-75th percentile...i am below by like 30 in reading..10 in math...in writing im above.....im applying to a university that has a moderately difficult acceptance rate....i have a 3.65 gpa...sports as extra curriculars and 15 hour sof ervice towards my church....and 24/157 in my class...do i still have a good shot at acceptance or am i pretty much a qualifier for the waitlist

First off, it would be good to know the college. Second off, 15 hours of service won't really mean anything. And second off being a few points behind the percentile shouldn't hurt you that much but if you can it would be good to try and up it a bit. I'll try to help you some more once you give the college.

I think you are a high match/ low reach. Unfortunately your SAT scores are low. Also try to make it look like you are interested. Other then that you really can't do that much. Good luck though.

o btw im applying to ball state university and i called teh admission office today and they said they are looking for at least a 1300 sat...on the 2400 scale

bump....................

Your rank is probably much higher than their average applicant so you should have a decent shot. Do they publish what percent is in the top 25% of their high school class?

This site gives you some basic stats. As for moderately difficult? I'm showing a 72% acceptance.

As long as you have an OK SAT (Above 1300?), you should be fine.. as long as you wrote your essay with better grammar than used in teh post.

Good luck.

bumpkinssssss
