CHANCES PLEASE! THANX!

YOUR GOING TO GET INTO IVIES. point is...you shouldnt.
i hate you

this is such a disgrace its rediculous. People like you are the reason why affirmative action has become such a farse and why its original purpose is no longer being served to help people.

Buddy idc whether you are blue green white or black...dont tell me you suffer from discrimination...you are a quarter black. Most 100% black people dont suffer from discrimination. If you wanna play that game i can easily say i suffer from discrimination cause im italian...no one wants someone whos affilitated with the mafia. Italians were discriminated against in the past, so i should get sum benefits now right.

You dont know what its like to be discriminated against, and dont pretend you do. MLK and all the other great Civil Rights activists would be very dissapointed in you. You need to understand what that movement was about before you go ahead and try and use your skin color to get you into college

Guy, you dont deserve to go to the ivies. Why dont you start using your head instead of your skin color.

Iamblack is a troll just trying to stir up trouble.
No one who would really think like this would be so open about it.
Come on you guys - this was his first post.

The only info he really gives is that he's black, he has lowish scores for ivy schools, and he applied to all ivy schools and he wants to play the "race card.' It's a joke.

^LOL <3 doogie... sorry i just have to say this... FOGET ABOUT ITTT
LOL

Why dont you start using your head instead of your skin color.
so true

I think this is a white person posting. Angry at affirmative action prbly.

ya i changed a few things in my post too, read back

^^^ I agree Venus. I am starting to really think this person is a troll. Maybe one who might be against AA so he/she does a really ridiculous example to show why it isn't needed.

seriously though what minority would make "iamblack" their username. we try not to be judged for our sking color

looks pretty good man. keep it up

a d m i s s i o n c h a n c e s . c o m

so, let me get this right, you are only 1/4 black iamblack, b/c your grandfather is the only african-american in your family...

wow, i don't even no what to say about your chances, i hope you get in to the schools you applied to... good luck.

I don't have a problem with AA if it's targeted at those who are truly disadvantaged, the problem is that it assumes all black people are disadvantaged, while other races, white included, who may live in poverty with just as little advantage as any poor black kid doesn't get the extra boost. This poster (if he's real) has had private tutors in everything, and parents have probably spent thousands on him helping him to boost his scores. This is not what AA is meant for, My parents haven't spent a dime on these things and i'm 100% white, I get by on my own merits and work yet will get no boost for it.

Target AA at the social/economic groups, not at the color of the skin.

EDIT- not to blame the poster, if I was black I'd milk it too. Manipulate the system for all it'll give you, it's not your fault that it's broken.

AA in itself racism at its best. Colleges assuming all blacks/hispanics are academically insufficient....

I can't believe people are taking this guy seriously

I am 100% for real. I only picked my name and title because I knew people on CC would respond to posts with words like black on it. I didn't realize I would get some much negative feed back.

I'm 100 percent black, my parents come straight from West Africa (Nigeria, Abuja), but I ain't pimping that. I've suffered tons of discrimination and skepticism as a result of the deep southern (Arkansan ) envorinoment I'm subject to, though I have the privilege (sp?) of attenting Little Rock Central High School. All of this I say to say this: Don't use race primarily. Focus on other things, the way your post sounded is irritating to majorities and offends minorities like me that actually try; I don't want blackness to be my reason for acceptance to a good school, even if it's made me suffer.

But if that's not your main focus, more power to you. However, you probably have a good shot. Minorities have been said to be given breaks, but I want to EARN it as much as possible. True equality is acceptance when you're accepted in equal bearing to the next white guy.

Also: Almost everyone who's posted here has made really wise and insightful comments, they're all interesting to read.

(But for accuracy purposes, a lot more people suffer discrimination than one would think)

well said Murasaki...

Murasaki thanks for the awesome advice. just because my % of being black might not be really high, my skin color makes me much more so than the percentage, so i can related to you.

I don't focus only on my blackness. I talk about my club, for example, in many of my essays, and what my club taught me.

Ppl seem jealous. If they had a parent who was a millionaire, would they live in a shack? of course not. so why, if you are black, wouldn't you put it on your application like ppl seem to be suggesting and are getting mad about.

wow listening to the stuff you are saying is truly giving me the only reason why i would ever be dissapointed in this country

OP is obviously an angry little asian boy
