i am confused again

i talked to the Admission Off. and she said that the spring semester offers other classes? what does that mean? that Fall 2007 is different than Spring 2008? I mean i am looking forward to EE.

if u guys know what she was meaning, please explain, I was actually inclinded towards the spring classes.

It just means that the college will offer different classes in the fall in spring semester.

Let's consider a hypothetical German department's course offerings.

Fall semester:
German 1
German 3
German 5
Advanced Training: Language, Text, Context
Readings in German Intellectual History
Cultural Diversity and Its Representations

Spring Semester:
German 2
German 4
German 6
Introduction to Literary Analysis: Philosophical Approaches to Criticism
Modern German Drama: Masculinity in German Drama
Political Transformation in Eastern and Western Europe: Germany and Its Neighbors

so if someone is applying for SPRING 2008. how will they manage the course load from Fall?

how can u do G2 if u didnt do G1?

wont that be Freshman year?

If you start in the spring semester, you cannot take anything that requires a prerequisite unless you've tested out or received transfer credits. Not all courses, however, have a two semester sequence.

Simply put, some courses are offered in the fall, others in the spring, and still others (especially if they are major cornerstones for certain majors) in both the spring and the fall.

Greenvison, you do understand that you don't take the same courses for both semesters? It's not like high school.

in the application for high school seniors, it says" Applying for Fall 2007 or spring 2008" I am asking is how can you just sit in the other half of freshman year?

lets say i dont get into fall 2007, will i have to apply for fall 2008?

Most high school seniors apply for Fall 2007. If you don't get in, then you go elsewhere. Are you applying to several colleges? I'm sorry, but I'm not aware of your plans. If you're planning to go into EE, it's best to begin in the fall simply because the course order is criticial.

Of course you can start in the spring. I'm sure you could take Calc. (that's offered both semester at most schools) and possibly a general engineering course. Maybe a couple of electives. You'll have to check with the course catalogues at the schools where you are applying.

You cannot just "sit in" at college.

i am going to graduate in July. I am an American but doing HS from Pakistan. there no such thing as GPA or class rank so i am just sending every thing i have from school/ i applied in march 2007 because both the schools are rolling and they have a 50-75% admit rate, polytechnic uni. NYC and city college of new york

comparing my "books" i have studied almos/maybe all the AP exam stuff of America for sciences and math. but i cant say "I gave taken AP in HS'. if u know what i mean. I admit i was very late in my process, but thats only because i thought the SYSTEMS of both nations were alike.

In PK, ENTRANCE exams are taken in July_august end, for the FALL classes. there is no such thing as spring classes.

Most international students take courses very similar to APs but don't take AP exams. Usually colleges grant credit for those courses as well provided you took some national exam in that subject (A Levels, German Abitur, French Baccalaureate, ...)

Even if you don't take a national exam, you might be able to work out a deal with the registrar. Just bring an official copy (certified by your school) of the syllabi of the courses for which you would like to receive credit and/or placement.

ok will do that
