I am dumb enough to get caught cheating

nevermind, you didn’t ignore me, i just never rechecked the thread. Very strange meeting you again, its been years… I was deadlifts-ftw btw

LOL @ Caltech + Cheating

When I visited Caltech, the thing they stressed the most was their honor policy.

Good luck bro.

@Mathemagician1 If this is true then… it’s a tmisc reunion ;)

Yo, I responded a couple weeks ago, yes I am

I believe they make exceptions when the person was only cheating because he felt that to do otherwise would inhibit his education.

I hate cheating, and I personally feel that anyone who cheats should be expelled right off the bat. Just do your work with your own knowledge, cheating to get a high grade is just sickening to me. I’d rather get 0%

You really don’t sound very smart at all. Using words like “barbaric” and “hypocritical” in this situation isn’t being accurate.

They’re putting the appropriate comment on your permanent record, not tearing your limbs off.

I’d go with remorse, if you can manage it.

Explain that you’d been preoccupied with other things (NOT more important things, just different things), that you realized you’d neglected to study and you made a big, fat mistake in judgment. Offer to take a zero on the quiz in exchange for not getting the writeup. Your overall grade might take a slight hit but that’s a lot better than having a comment that you’re a cheater on your PRC.

By the way, I tell my kids I’d rather they fail than cheat.

Actually, davidthefat, go with your “excuse” you posted earlier. You deserve the outcome for that.

^^odds are he’s getting a zero anyway, so i doubt that’ll help much.

But yeah, remorse is good.

I’m more shocked by your utterly pathetic method of cheating.

“I left my book open on the desk behind me and glanced back…”

Really? you LEFT YOUR BOOK OPEN ON THE DESK BEHIND YOU AND GLANCED BACK?
