<p>I HATE DUKE'S FINANCIAL AID POLICIES!!! GAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THAT IS THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS SCHOOL! So, when you apply for OUTSIDE scholarships, the scholarship committees send the money directly to your university. WELL, WHAT DUKE DOES IS SUBTRACTS THAT AMOUNT OUT OF YOUR FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE!!!!!!! WHAT IS THE POINT OF APPLYING FOR OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? SO IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU APPLY FOR OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS BECAUSE THEY ARE WORTHLESS BASICALLY!! I WORKED SO HARD TO GET THESE SCHOLARSHIPS AND IF THEY ARE JUST GOING TO TAKE THEM AWAY, I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD DUKE. THIS WHOLE COLLEGE PROCESS IS SCREWED UP. HOW CAN ONE JUSTIFY TAKING AWAY YOUR SCHOLARSHIPS? HOW IS THAT DOABLE!?!?!?!? I HATE DUKE!!! I DONT EVEN WANT TO GO ANYMORE, BUT THEN AGAIN, THAT IS THE WAY IT IS AT ALL THESE COLLEGES!!! I HATE THIS I HATE THIS I HATE IT I HATE IT!</p>
<p>whoa... let's not have a temper tantrum now... outside scholarships actually subtract the loans from ur financial aid package, so it actually does help ease the monthly payments ur gonna have to make when ur out of college and working.</p>
<p>i know i know. It is just frustrating because i am going to have to take out loans, just now i will have to take out loans with a little higher interest. and i kind of wanted the work study, but I understand. I will deal with it. I am fine, I was just mad about the thing for a moment.</p>
