Biology, algebra, and AP World are all in the 70’s and I am a freshman. I failed the first test for all of these subjects, and I just feel like crying. Do colleges look at freshman year like that much? In Biology, Biochem they say is the hardest unit, and I am just really worried. I have so much stress and dread going to class to get more work just to academically hurt myself more.
Talk to your teachers and see if you can get extra help. You still have time to bring your grades up
The marking period ends November 2nd, and there really isn’t much more I can do. I am just so stressed up and angry at myself @nyuhopeful44
Does your school go by quarters, or semesters?
Semesters @Trafficlight24
Then you still have time to bring it up. It’s probably only the end of the first half of the semester; a lot can be done in a quarter.
And no, if you aren’t aiming for the Ivies, sophomore and junior years count more.
Thank you, although I do like Dartmouth @Trafficlight24
Thank you! @TrumpFTW
How did your grades fall behind? Was it lack of studying, not doing homework, not paying attention in class, or just not understanding the concepts? Identify the problem, and fix it. If your only problem is not understanding the concepts, then I highly suggest finding tutoring opportunities at your school or finding resources that will help you, like prep books or khan academy.
AP World is most likely lower because freshman are taking a rigorous AP, and my average is higher than some in that class, it isn’t considered low. I will also have 3 extra credit points added to my average at the end of the semester, which will boost it up.
Biology is low because I was placed in Honors Biology at the beginning of the year (big mistake there) so like six weeks in I had a massive schedule change into regular biology and some of my grades came with me and some did not, and I have to make up a lot of the work from the six weeks I wasn’t there.
Algebra is low, because well, frankly, I am not the best at math. I will most likely seek a tutor in April to prepare for the regents in June.
Thank you! @Shanban1607
