I am having trouble motivating myself. My uncle pushes me to do work but I cant seem to improve on my work so I tend to give up. I think I do a lot of work because I am forced to do 4 hours of work but after reading some of the forms I proved my self wrong. What should I do?

What the hell are you talking about?

im working on my sat book but i cant motivate my self enough to work to improve. i work so i can get it out of my way. thats why i cam here

You have to be self motivated. You can’t teach that lol.

useless thread

^ Stop being caustic and stop being dismissive.
OP//Studying may seem futile. But you got to have the tenacity to study. Think of SAT as a game. Or you can try what Bak0rz does. [S]He does kind of reward-punishment system. Every time Bak0rz loses concentration, he/she adds 1 lap of jogging. Or think of it as the last ordeal before you enter college.

Agree about useless thread.

OP, there is no easy answer to your question. Your going to need to find your own self-motivation, without it your going to crash and burn.

Look at it this way, if you don’t want to be shining my shoes and flipping my burgers, your going to have to do well on the SAT. And if you want to do well on the SAT then your gonna have to work hard.

Thanks to the people who helped me

Promise yourself (and really mean it) to leave home and never return unless you break a certain score on the test.

i agree with benhpark, you may need some self motivation to do well on the SAT, everyone is different so i suggest you truly think about if you want to go to college, i dont agree with crouch88 on thinking about leaving home, but i do agree with his approach on trying to find a stimulant to make you study. as for me its College-> Leads to a happy life with more $$$. by the way you dont need to study for four hours a day(unless you want too), i can assure you that not alot of students especially me myself, cant sit down in one chair for four hours and memorize a certain amount of formulas and vocab words before going crazy. I do an hour a day max, 2 sections on either math writing or reading depending on whichever im focused on during that day. good luck ^_^

-i dont understand the pathetic people who degrade others looking for help, this isnt a useless thread but a plea for some help or suggestions

negative reinforcement works much better for lazy people (like me) who couldn’t care less about studying otherwise

hey man whatever works, like i said i cant totally agree with you lol, but everyone is different

Gotta motivate yourself kid. Think about it; work hard now, have a great 4 years in college and learn alot as well as maturing then live a good life working a job you LOVE. You can do it; also being pushed for 4 hours may seem intense but when you get that high score you’ll thank your uncle, he only wants best for you.

Thanks again for everyone who helped. ill try to get my self worked up about college and try to pass the sat

Haha, “try.” I lol’d.

Well think of it this way; with forced studying at least your guaranteed a good score. It sucks now, but the SAT is just once in ur life so u’ll get over it. good luck bro :)!

Nobody forced me to study, I just do it because I love the SAT. Getting A’s is easy. Getting 5’s is easy. Get 2300 is hard.
