I am looking to tutor the SAT

I’m just about to graduate high school and I need a job for the summer. Do SAT tutors need to be an adult, or could I pass as a tutor (I got an 800 in Math, I’d probably tutor that. Rest were 740 CR and 730 W but I don’t know how well I could tutor those)?

There might be the annoying thing that the SAT is changing in a bit, but I guess there’s like a year left for me to tutor the same test I took.

I tried googling this but a bunch of annoying and repetitive links came up. Also, how are wages usually? I don’t expect to be one of those high skills tutors that rich people consult.

I am kind of a hypocrite for doing this because I didn’t ever take a class or get a tutor, and I think SAT scores are not as meaningful as people think they are, even though you have to play the game for college.

I don’t know if commercially interested posts are allowed on CC.

Excuse my grammar it’s 4:30 AM.

Sure, go for it, why not? Keep your tuition in line with your experience (or lack thereof), of course, but I’m sure you could help people.

(I first tutored the SAT in the summer before my senior year of high school, back in '89 haha)

I tutored math up to calculus before during senior year in HS (not SAT specifically) - you can definitely tutor and make your name known, but don’t charge $40 or $50/hr or whatever most professional tutors charge, as marvin100 said, since you are probably new.

There are also multiple tutoring companies out there - pay at these companies is not the best (usually a bit more than minimum wage) but having employment experience definitely helps.
