I am lost and scared! Help!

I am a 19 year old undergraduate student who is very confused! I moved to California in the middle of my high school life and did my junior and senior year here. I didn't know much about the colleges here... and still don't! Here are some details about me:

I currently go to a community college even though I got accepted to Cal State LA and Cal State Fullerton for economic reasons. I am glad I did considering my parents have $0 saved up for my college career. I get a lot of financial asisstance from Grants (Pell and Cal). I also qualified for Board of Government Fee Waiver. So all my tuition is paid.

I graduated high school in June 2011 and started my first semester at the community college in Fall 2011. I am still stuck in community college. I have gotten two "W"s so far so I have to re-take those classes (Intro Chemistry and Intro Stats) and I also need to take P.E. to transfer (community college's req.) and one or two other courses. My major is Psychology (Probably Developmental Psych) and I intend to go to Med School after to become a surgeon ...so I need to do pre-med reqs too :(

My GPA so far is 2.87 and I am currently enrolled in the spring semester taking a 3 unit and a 5 unit class. I will probably get an A in the 3 unit class and an A or a B in the 5 unit class. I am thinking I only have to be at this college for Summer Semester and Fall 2013... Meaning I am hoping I would be somewhere else come Spring 2013.

So, Am I on the right track? Any advice? Any warnings?
School advice? (I am thinking some okay to good Cal States like Fullerton and Northride... Any others? UC Santa Cruz would be great to get into... and UCLA too)
Should I be worried I am in a community college this long?

Any help would be great! Thanks!

You should probably talk to a counselor. I was a bit lost as well, but then I started talking to my counselor and she helped me get on track and understand everything I needed to transfer. Don’t worry about being there too long. Community college doesn’t take two years (they lied to us haha) unless you are a super full-time student and pass everything on the first try. Everyone goes at their own pace. Good luck! I hope everything works out for you!
