I am on STEP 3 - how long until STEP 4?

I was on STEP 2 for a week or so. today they finally processed the hs transcript and it moved to STEP 3.

how long until step 4 or step 5??

That can vary widely. If you are an auto-admit, it will only take a couple of weeks. If you are a review candidate, it could be anywhere between a couple of weeks to April of 2010. Based on last year’s board, the strongest review candidates heard earlier by January (this included students just outside the top 10%, with really good test scores, scholarship recipients, etc). The majority of the rest of the review candidates seemed to not hear until March.

I know that’s not a very comforting thought that it could still be months before you get an answer. The waiting is SO hard.

Ds was a review admit and from when he pushed the button to when he heard was either two or three weeks. If you’re close (and he was), I assume it goes quicker.

my DD is one ACT point away from automatic admit.

My dd is a review admit for Fall 2010 for the college of education and has been
on step 3 since August 31 and we still haven’t heard anything.

She’s top 12% with a class of 1200, 28 ACT and 3.67 gpa (6.3 adjusted).

Has ANYONE heard that is a review admit for Fall 2010?

thanks,
Susan

Susan, are you asking whether someone who is a review admit has heard whether he/she is in? If so, then yes, my ds was a review admit, and he was accepted. He applied late September-early October and heard October 15 that he was in.

Yes, I was asking if any review admits for Fall 2010 had heard if they got in to A&M.

Congratulations to your son and hopefully we’ll hear soon.

Thanks for your reply,
Susan

i know other real life people/review admits that have heard back already.

Interesting, Youdon’tsay, My son was auto-admit and we’d heard 2 weeks (even from an A&M admissions employee), but it was around 4 weeks before we got the letter. Applied mid-October and just got the letter this week.

did you non auto admits do essay c and submit teacher recs?

No to teacher recs. What was the prompt on essay C? If you tell me that I might remember what he did.

Topic C (All application types)

There may be personal information you want considered as part of your admissions application. Write an essay describing that information. You might include exceptional hardships, challenges, or opportunities that have shaped or impacted your abilities or academic credentials, personal responsibilities, exceptional achievements or talents, educational goals, or ways in which you might contribute to an institution committed to creating a diverse learning environment.

YDS - can you tell me your DS basic stats?

i emailed admissions and asked if there was anything else i should do to improve my DS app. the lady said send the recs and essay c. i was thinking more along the lines of more demonstrated interest.

DD is not going to be happy if she has to do essay C.

: /

I’ll PM you.

: ) ok : )

Your inbox is full. :)

My daughter got accepted - so the website says. We haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet though. She is on Step 5 and accepted the offer and they mailed her admission decision on the 17th the website says. Her application was complete on October 11th. Her school does not rank but for sure she is not top 10% - perhaps not top 25%? she took rigorous courses and had a 3.87, she had a 35 ACT though and is a National Hispanic Scholar - so that may have helped. I have also heard of some Eagles Scouts that were from non ranking schools who have been accepted. she did not do essay C just worked really hard on A and B.
