Derrick, I just want to say that I love you. =)

And as I sit here at Key Club Convention, I reminise about the days two years ago that you won the Oratorical Contest. Jackie and Erica say hi too, because we think you are amazing.

I’m pretty an Asian kid with those stats wouldn’t get in. But that’s only my opinion. Go to any good public or magnet school and it’s actually fairy common. I’m not saying the OP isn’t a good student. He obviously is. He got in. But the truth is being an URM does help.

Honestly, I think you’re fishing for compliments. I’ve said this before on the CC forums, and I’ve had my post deleted, but I’m going to say it again… You are. Those debate titles mean nothing. I do debate. Colleges LOVE debate and they know small, local tournaments mean nothing.

Try winning TOCs, then we’ll talk.

I’d comment on your national honors societies stuff, but I don’t know how your school works, so I won’t. I will point out that the National Academic League and Junior Honor Society is for MIDDLE SCHOOLERS.

OP - I think you will need Math IIC for those schools. I didn’t see it on your stat. NYU Stern will be a match for you. Since your income is 100-150, you may not be able to get that much financial aid. Why don’t you apply to Duke. You may be eligible for their full merit scholarship. I would also look at some top schools with good merit scholarship. Many of those schools you have listed have need based aid. Good luck.
