I am only in my first semester...

and I am completely freaking out about majors. Right now I am just taking classes to fill requirements (my school calls them modes, there are 6). I am leaning towards International Relations... as it seems everyone and their brother is as well. But I do have a great interest in it. I am unfortunately not a science or math person. Statistics was easy for me, very easy, I liked it a lot though and pre-calculus was OK but I didn't like it. I was considering Public Health but the Biology scares me away. And although I am excellent at English it is not something I'd major in. I considered communications but it doesn't really appeal that much to me. Sociology... I'd rather do a minor in. Or a minor in Women's Studies or Philosophy...

I have that "useless major" idea stuck in my head though but I don't want to major in something like Physics and feel miserable. Although I did pretty well in physics.

Any advice?

Major in what interests you. You wouldn’t become a physicist (to use your example) if you didn’t like physics. Your interests will lead you to a career in what you actually enjoy, which is important (some say the most).

Thank you for your reply. :)
