I am Pleading You

Everyone here on CC. I know that many of the people that frequent this site are some of the smartest students in America. However, i have one request. Please do not post information you don't know to be 100% true. I mean if you're not sure just write whatever you want but make sure to note that you are not sure. Many people here give false implications of whether a person can possibly get into certain schools and whether their stats are "good enough." On behalf of many people on this site. Please post your stuff but don't ruin other people's lives with false facts.

im sure that when one is asking for chances, one goes in with his/her own beliefs set. one is pretty sure of his/her chances in getting in, one just wants reassurances.

Not only that, i just don't want people to say like OMG Harvard is easier to get into than Oregon state OOs...

This doesn't make sense. Who's the judge of what's right and wrong?

The thing is, Sheed30, people honestly do think themselves to be right. And when you blow a vessel because they said something outrageous, it's because it disagreed with something you think, and you think yourself to be right.

So this whole thread is rather pointless.

To be honest, I've never seen anyone post false information. Some people are unnecessarily blunt, but I haven't read anything like your example... nobody pretends that they know everything about admissions, and the exact probabilities of Person A getting into School B, but we all try our best to give a person a general idea of where they stand.

^^ sometimes there's false information, or sometimes correct information is presented in a slightly misleading way, but generally, information on here is good. (Though of course, that's by my own judgment.)

I solved this problem by a very successful method: I don't post in "chance me!" threads at all!

yeah... if the responses bother you, don't make posts asking for them. part of this site is that people are going to be overly harsh. and just because someone here says you'll get in doesn't mean you will. they can't know. all you're asking is their opinion, which is what you're getting whether or not you like it.

i think the best place ot ask this kind of stuff is the admissions offcies of the schools you want to go to...

I AM PLEADING ALL THE RICH PEOPLE OUT THERE. PLEASE GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY.

Sheed30, nothing is gonna change by your plea. in fact, i hereby claim that the earth is flat. and guess what? some half year olds will believe me and you can do nothing about it.

No. I will continue to spread my untruths! MWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

if people don't want their chances to be considered by others online, then they shouldn't post a chances thread :)

Those people are called trolls, and quite easily distinguishable as such.

like this thread...

To the OP, this is a pretty ridiculous request. I sure hope the people who post those kind of threads understand that they will be getting opinions and not just straight facts. If you insist on censoring that kind of material I would recommend that you, and whoever else thinks this, should stay off this board...and from all other online sites...and from most news sources...and books...and movies...etc.

This forum, some of the brightest.

Yeah Frigging right. The only reason I come here is to talk in the Engineering section as most of the guys there have absolutely zero idea of the truth when it comes to actual engineering. They live in a world and make there own ideas on what is truthful. Its kinda sad.

It makes me laugh to see that firefox has posted here.
Yet I am not surprised.

heheheheee, chill out people, my plead is nullifies, i was just ****ed off about something and now i have come back to my sense.

that's good to know.
