I am running out of options.

I was going to take College Algebra/Trig during the summer at my community college and take AP Calc senior year, but I don't think that'll be possible. I recently got a job and I simply can't keep a high grade in the college classes, keep a job, and keep up with my normal classes all at the same time. Is there a math course tha can be completed online during the summer before school? I know of EPGY but they say it takes around 6 months to complete the class...please help.

Yes! Johns Hopkins (<a href="http://www.cty.jhu.edu/math/courses/thinkwell-precalc.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.cty.jhu.edu/math/courses/thinkwell-precalc.html</a>)
Take the Precalc/Trig course for 3 months over the summer.
Good luck!

Wow, I wish I had known that. I would be taking calculus this year, so then I would take Statistics senior year

Thank you for the help but it seems that there's a SAT requirment for the courses. I'm going to talk the SAT I in June so even if I do get the score, I'll be starting in mid-late June. So I'll only have 2 months to complete it. :-/

OH yeah, I'm sorry. Okay listen I have an idea.
Go to <a href="http://www.thinkwell.com/marketing/viewTitle.cfm?disciplineID=1&productID=5%5B/url%5D">http://www.thinkwell.com/marketing/viewTitle.cfm?disciplineID=1&productID=5</a> and sign up for Precalc/Trig, the CDs are like 76 bucks, and you can learn it on your own that way. With Johns Hopkins, it's like $1000 because you get an online tutor. And by the way, are you a junior?

Yeah, and let's just say that I was not the most determined kid freshman year. So I ended up in a remedial math course 9th grade.

10th - Alg. 1
11th - Geometry

So I'm pretty behind obviously. It sucks because I'm in a regular Geometry class pulling A's and I know I can do better than this. In my school, if you take Honors Alg. 2/Trig, you get into AP Calc next year. But I think I'm setting my goal way too high. I guess I can just take Alg. II and take Pre-Calc senior year. Or take Alg. II and self study trig...

Or maybe I'm just in over my head and I should just talke Alg. II senior year. ugh..

Alright, you should take Alg II this summer if possible. Alg II is important, as it's even on the SAT now. Plus if you take Alg II this summer, precalculus will be easier. Now you have a couple of options here. You can work really hard and finish all of the Alg II course. And then you could take Precalc and Calc senior year, but that might be ..really tough. I mean, basically, you have 3 important math classes to take in 1 year + a summer. You can take Alg II AND precalculus this summer, and devote 1 year to Calculus. I mean, this is all possible if you're a math oriented person.

It's unfortunate you took Geometry because it's not as important as the algebras. But what has been done is done, so if you think you can do it, sign up for the Algebra II class and Precalculus classes this summer with an online program, possibly Thinkwell. It's the cheapest way besides a community college class. Then take AP Calc senior year. What do you think?

I like the Thinkwell idea. But I have to find out if my school will let me take the classes with Thinkwell and allow me to take the Alg. II and Precalc exams for credit (you have to take the final exam at my school to get credit for the class if you took it outside of the school). Thanks again for the help. I'm going to talk to my counselor and the math supervisor about it tomorrow.

I assume Intermediate Alg. = Alg. I and College Alg. = Alg. II.
