I am SLOW at the Writing Section. CR and Math are manageable (-1/2 per section) but..

For Writing, jeesh. In the Improving Sentences I feel like I first have to differentiate how the answer choices are different from each other and then slowly narrow down the best ones.

Especially in Section 10, I feel like I have to rush when facing Improving Sentences/Paragraphs. Identifying is easier.

Do you guys formulate a better sentence before you even go thruogh the answer choices? I can't find much strategiesfor the Writing Section besides Grammar rules. Thanks for your help

Ya you have to know the grammar rules through and through, but even sometimes this is not enough.
This summarises my approach and it should help you http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/747042-strangecamuss-sat-grammar-guide.html</a>
But also just adding to the info in the link; I go straight to the underlined part and look for grammar errors, e.g. errors in parallelism, wrong conjunction, subject verb agreement, and pronoun errors. SAT loves pronouns! Passive etc.
Hope this helps
