I am subject to academic disqualification

I took three classes this quarter and I got two D's and a C-, bringing my quarter GPA down to a 1.3. My cumulative GPA is around 2.8.
I have several W's on my transcript and I already got put on academic probation once before during winter quarter of last year.
Will I get kicked out of UCSD?

It’s hard to say if you’ll get kicked out or not because you’ve already been on probation, just not consecutively. The good thing is that your total GPA is good. They make decisions on a case to case basis so the best thing for you to do is to go see a counselor at the school before you get your “academic notice.” Show that you care and want to do better next quarter. Maybe propose a plan to make next quarter better than this one.

Hi chemeng66,

If you could tell me what happened to you and give me any advice I’d really appreciate it. I’m in a very similar situation this quarter and am freaking out!!

Is UCSD really that hard? TWO Ds?? and a C-?? I find it almost a struggle to do that poorly, but then again I’m only in high school taking APs.

Difficulty really depends on the major and how advanced the class is, if you’re taking something like upper div CS courses I can see a higher probability of that happening, but in general, no, UCSD classes are not that difficult.
