<p>hopefully i'll be able to raise my grades, but if i don't do you think i'll get my admissions revoked?</p>
<p>i e-mailed them and asked and they said my grades have to be consistent with my previous coursework, and can have no grade lower than a C. but they didn't say anything about maintaining a 3.0 gpa. </p>

<p>you dont need to maintain the 3.0 gpa, just as long as you have no Cs. i think the 3.0 weighted gpa is for schools like berkeley, la, sd and irvine</p>
<p>but what if we do get a D in an AP course?? i got a D in AP Physics C and i’m close to a D in Calc BC(70%) so i might have 2 Ds but now i have 1 D. what do we do if we get a D??</p>
<p>I emailed the Admissions Office about that and got a response today regarding senior grades:</p>
<p>“You cannot receive a D or an F. A C- would be of concern if your GPA falls below a 3.0 weighted.”</p>
<p>I’ve read the UC Santa Cruz is extremely strict when it comes to maintaining a 3.0 GPA and no grade lower than a C in senior year, it’s under the "condition of admission. I’ve heard of many students getting their admissions revoked because they had under a 3.0 GPA and, one of them had their acceptance revoked in July. So I advise to get over a 3.0 GPA and nothing under a C. And if it’s impossible at this point, BEG your teacher. Cry if you have to, tell him or her that this is your future and that you would be willing to do anything to raise the grade. Most teachers do have a heart and are willing to help you. Bringing your parent as well to talk to the teacher would probably seal the deal.</p>

<p>Yeah, a C- or 2 C’s would not affect your admission as long as you have over a 3.0 GPA.</p>

<p>According to “condition of admission” you have to get a 3.0 GPA, I don’t think it specifies which one so I’m assuming it’s both. Just try and keep them both to a 3.0 to be on the safe side. But I think they would put more emphasis on the weighted GPA.</p>

<p>Work your butt-off man. UC Santa Cruz doesn’t mess around with D’s or people getting less than 3.0 senior year. I know the cal states are more merciful but UC Santa Cruz is rough. I did some research on this subject matter and made sure I would get over a 3.0 GPA and nothing less than a C at all costs. Like I said, there are plenty of stories out there of people getting D’s and less than a 3.0 GPA and getting rescinded. Some of them even emailed Santa Cruz and all they responded was “sorry, you didn’t meed the condition of admission”. And it’s pretty cruel that they revoked this one guys admission as late as July. I’m not trying to scare you to death, just trying to put some reality to the situation. You should definitely talk to your teachers about it and you would be surprised how many of them do care. I know that most of the teachers I have if I were in your situation would help me meet the condition.</p>

<p>thats all they said but it made it seem like as long as you’re 3.0 or over weighted you’re good so if you have 2 C’s and a 3.0 weighted then you are fine. In case anything happens to me and they do not accept my two C’s (that I’m most likely going to have) i’ll just hit them up with the email they sent me so im not really worried.</p>
<p>Hey guys, I am also terrified of getting my admission rescinded. I have all A’s and B’s, but I am taking an extra math class at a community college. I just had my final this past friday, and I was pretty sure I at best had a C- maybe D going into the final. The final was worth 30% of the final grade. I think I did okay on it, but my luck tells me I probably had a D or F for the class. Would UCSC rescind me for a D or F in a non high school class? I do have A’s and B’s in my high school, two of the classes being AP’s…I’m just so scared that my admission will be lost just because of some class I volunteered in taking, one I didn’t even have to take. </p>

<p>Please contact the Admissions Office. I’m not sure how Santa Cruz would do it, but from personal experience at Davis, as long as you fulfill the contract they sent you when they first accepted, I don’t think they can seriously consider revoking your admission even if under a 3.0 weighted, as long as they are all above D’s and F’s.</p>

They do revoke your admissions. I’ve heard of people getting their admissions revoked as late as July because either they received a D or F in a class or a GPA under 3.0. But there is a part in the conditions of admission that I’m not to sure about where it says you have to get grades contingent with your work in the past. That means if you are 4.0 GPA student they want you to continue getting a 4.0. I’m not so sure if they really enforce that.</p>
<p>Thee 3.0 is in reference to your OVERALL HIGH SCHOOL GPA. You only have to get a minimum of 2.0, but if that brings you OVERALL HIGH SCHOOL GPA below 3.0, then you may be revoked. If you call, they’ll tell you. And I don’t think they’ll be revoking anyone. My friend got two Ds (AP French and Economics) and he just told them ahead of time and they just sent him a letter saying that they were very disappointed by his grades, but he was selected based on prior criteria and he wouldn’t be rescinded. I’m not saying that anyone shouldn’t try their best, but if something comes up, just tell them ahead of time (and you’d better have a good damn excuse if they want one!).</p>

No, they will revoke your admissions if you get a D or F. Read the conditions of admission yourself. I have it right in front of me, and it says
“Your admission to UC Santa Cruz for the fall quarter 2009 is provisional subject to the conditions listed below. It is important that you read these carefully because your admission will be withdrawn if you do not fulfill these conditions
Earn a level of academic achievement in your fall and spring courses consistent with your previous course work, with no grade lower than a C. If you have already earned a grade of D or F in your senior year (fall or
spring), you have not met these conditions of admission.”
Thus meaning you will get your admissions revoked. And like I’ve said, several people have had their admissions revoked because they failed to meet the condition by getting a D or F in an AP class or something like that.

<p>i read the thread you recommended. so the guy failed spanish 3…and he did not even have to take the 3rd year of spanish. isnt this similar to how i took a class at a cc and failed it, and i did not even have to take this cc class. im trying my best to contact ucsc but email hasnt really worked out so im thinking of calling tomorrow.</p>
