I am very anxious and nervous that i have applied to schools that I do not qualify for.

<p>I am a senior at a public New England high school
I have a 3.61 UW GPA and 3.8 W GPA/ but I was forced to take all CP classes as a freshman and sophomore because of the set class schedule designed by a private school I transferred from
I take 3 APs this year (AP EURO, AP LIT, AP STAT) have A's and B's in these classes so far
I took only one AP (AP English Language) last year but I received A's every quarter and exam
I am African- American and Hispanic, I am currently living in a single parent home
1570=SAT 22=ACT
I am a managing editor for my school's online newspaper
I am a columnist for my school newspaper
I am editor-in-chief of my school's literary magazine
I am starting an arts fest at my school
I am an amateur film maker and I intern for a small professional production company
I intern for a local high school athletic conference website
I interned for a local newspaper
I tutor English
I play varsity baseball
I am a volunteer for BuildOn
I am on the NHS
I have done over 120hrs of community service (which may seem little)
I am a multimedia journalism mentor for a student run middle school newspaper
I am the coordinator for my newspapers documentary team
etc.
My most desired schools are:
NYU
USC
Syracuse
DePaul
Emerson
Northwestern
Michigan State
Ithaca
UWisconsin
UIllinois (both parents graduated with master's degree)</p>

<p>Seriously, in absolute honesty, what are my chances, am I even a possible candidate?</p>

<p>I dont know much about the rest, but your test scores arent very good and your GPA doesnt make up for it. You do however, have very good ECs with, especially all of the newspaper stuff.</p>

<p>If you’re worried about getting into any of them, I’d say your safe. Like the people above said, there are a few reaches, but overall, most of your schools should be okay for you. My reasons would be your obvious effort in helping the society and doing what you love (presumably newspaper related stuff), and the fact that (not trying to be racist) you are of a minority group. Illinois should be a safe school for you at any rate.</p>
