I am waitlisted

where have y’all decided to go. as your backup if you don’t get into A&M off the waitlist???

I did speak to one of the counselors at the prospective student center and he confirmed there are 500 spots set aside for the Blinn Team program for the Fall of 2009 and those spots are part of the 8100. Blinn Team enrollees do count in the statistics as admitted, they are listed as part time versus full time students.

Anyone know how many were offered Waitlist/Team Blinn? I had been told that Team Blinn had 700 slots available, but was later told around 500. Any updates on how many waitlist folks might get in? I would imagine very few.

Is it a good idea for me to ask them to take my name off the Blinn Team if i am not interested? I would still like to be considered on the waitlist, but i think removing my name from Blinn will help someone else…

My backup school would be the University Of Houston… in response to kmolm

I find it really hard to believe that they don’t have the wait list ranked. Seems incredibly inefficient to in effect start all over and re-evaluate the waitlisted group. Why wouldn’t they already be ranked? Seems like it would speed the process and let people get on with their lives.

^ They probably do have the waitlistees ranked.
They just won’t tell you. xD

Last year they sent out about 800 Blinn TEAM admits and ended up with more than 500 enrolled. Over the last five years, the Blinn TEAM FTIC (first time in college) freshman enrollment has been 367, 327, 286, 474, 584. From the admissions website, they appear to aiming for about 500 enrollments this year as well.

You can verify those numbers by looking at the Blinn TEAM Demographic Summary at the back of the Fall Enrollment Profiles available at: [Student Enrollment and Demographics Reports, Facts, Data, and Trends for Texas A&M](http://www.tamu.edu/opir/reports/student.html)

if it was ranked they wouldn’t say the latest to hear is june. most schools let you know by mid may. its ridiculous to keep people waiting this long. i know its a difficult task. but still.

there is still hope for yall I was waitlisted in 2007 did not get in until may 15. I was barely in top quarter and barely had any ec’s

wordup, had u accepted the offer for both waitlist and Blinn Team or just waitlist?

For what it’s worth for those of you on the waitlist, here is some possible proof that there will be openings. For those students who have accepted their admission and signed-up for a new student conference, there is a place on the confirmation page for the NSC to change the date of your conference and what open spots are still available. For my son’s page (he is in Liberal Arts), there are a total of 43 slots still available on the last July conference and the August conference as of today (May 3rd). Since May 1st was the deadline to accept admission and sign-up for the NSC, I am assuming those are openings that can still be filled. Whether they are just for that particular college or all majors, I don’t know.

Anyone heard any news on moves from the waitlist / Blinn Team, or any news on when we might hear?

nope, not a thing!

nothing =(

just e-mailed them and this is what they said.

The number of openings on the wait list is fluid and constantly changing, so we do not have any information about the availability of spaces. The Committee is just beginning to review candidates from the Waitlist and as stated in the letter you received, admissions decisions from the Waitlist will be announced no later than mid-June. At this time, no final admissions decisions have been made regarding Waitlist or Blinn TEAM.

Absolutely ridiculous!

Four kids from my high school got in on Friday off the waitlist…I am still waiting

i mean they obviously know how many spots are available. May 1st has passed already. so they already no the people who have turned down admissions, which would be the spots given to people off the wait-list. Mid June is absolutely ridiculous. and the fact that they don’t have us previously ranked, which would speed up the process is also absolutely ridiculous.

My Daughter’s AIS now shows Blinn Team General Studies as her Major for the Fall of 2009. She hasn’t moved from Step 5 but if you go into the HOWDY Portal she can now order her Sports Pass and Dining Options so am guessing she is going to get the Blinn Team option here in the next few days. Good luck to the rest of all the wait listers and Blinn Teamers…
