<p>Hie! Since there is a possibility that most of us are going to be together at Penn this fall ( and whether we are going to be together or not ), i think its a nice idea to get to know each other rather than just knowing our acceptances/rejections.
How about it?</p>

<p>So… I’ll start.</p>

<p>I’m from Kolkata, India. School got over in January for me…have my boards starting in 17 days. Also having a major case of senioritis :stuck_out_tongue: I love going to the gym, (Penn has two of the most amazing gyms - Hutchinson and Pottruck, if anyone here likes to gym) very into reading and movies. Love dancing! Also like basketball…</p>

<p>I’m pretty patient most of the times… and I love people with a sense of humour!!
Favourite movies - Devil’s Advocate, Matrix trilogy, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Cinderella Man, Gladiator, Braveheart… list goes on
Favourite music - I absolutely love Coldplay… and I hear they’re coming to Bangalore for a concert! yippeee… love a wide range of music…from the doors to pink floyd to bryan adams, 3 doors down, eminem, beatles, CCR, Greenday… lots more</p>

<p>so I'm from jenkintown, pennsylvania, which is about 30 minutes north of Penn. Strangely enough I've only been down on the campus about 6 times and 5 of those times were during my senior year. It became my first choice school when I visited in the Fall and I'm glad I got in ED.</p>

<p>I like reading, writing, music, movies, and track. My favorite authors are Silver RavenWolf, Garth Nix, Cate Tiernan, and Christopher Rice. My favorite books (not by my favorite authors) are Enchantment [orson scott card], inherit the earth [irma walker], the Blue is for Nightmares series [laurie stolarz], Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, and Hunted [kelley armstrong], and probably a few others I can't remember.</p>

<p>My favorite movies [I have a lot] are probably the Mists of Avalon, X-Men, X-2, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Mummy Returns, Little Nemo (no, not the fish, though I like that movie, too), The Craft, Rose Red, Mulan, Tomb Raider 1&2, Pirates of the Carribean, and maybe a few more I can't remember. My favorite TV shows are Charmed, Desperate Housewives, and Grey's Anatomy.</p>

<p>Okay, music...I like tons of different kinds of music. My favorite groups/bands/people are Evanescence, A Perfect Circle, Britney Spears, the Deuce Project, Inkubus Sukkubus, Lil'Kim and more. Probably too much to name.</p>

<p>At Penn I'm going to double major ing psychology and creative writing cause I <em>think</em> I want to be a child psychologist or something...yeah, I think that's it.</p>

<p>Hi. Yeah boards are the exam we take at the end of the year. once at the end of grade 10 and once at the end of grade 12. Like IB... its the same concept.
We have two national boards - ISC and CBSE. - A very large majority of schools have these boards. But my school has the state board - WBCHSE ... its only available in the state i am in, that is west bengal. its gradually becoming obsolete... i am the last batch to be taking this exam from my school.. the next batch onwards will be taking the ISC examinations.
so those are the boards....</p>

<p>hey everyone im varun and i'm from colorado springs, colorado. i enjoy snowboarding, tennis, and good parties. I got into penn ed and, like vidushi, i enjoy working out and love coldplay (i actually just saw them live two weekends ago in denver). weirdly enough, senioritis isn't really affecting me...im just trying to prep for stupid IB exams. at penn i plan on double majoring from the wharton school and the SEAS-- then i plan on going to Harvard for MD/MBA and a JD at Yale if I can fit it in. oh, yes, i also enjoy my monthly use of mary jane; great for relaxation ;)</p>

ive just seen snow once in my life.. so really looking forward to snowfall in penn :)</p>

<p>If you've only seen snow once then you're probably not used to the temperatures around here. Philly can get pretty chilly sometimes. So get ready...</p>

<p>It's really not that bad, though. It's a lot worse in New York and other places up north.</p>

<p>snowboarding's pretty awesome vidushi. you pretty much just get on a board and go down a snowy hill--colorado is known for the sport because of its great mountains. You've only seen snow once? haha that stinks, you should hit up simla..they have really good snow up there. btw, is anyone planning on going to penn previews here?</p>

<p>yeah, I'm probably going. I'm not sure when though. I think there's one on the 18th and/or the 19th so I'd probably go then.</p>

<p>hey guys, im tanvi ,i just finished with my boards too, (see vidushis entry on wat the hell they r)...but since im in penn now..i dnt have to worry bout my results!woohoo!
i damn kicked!</p>

<p>i love dancing...ive been at it since i was 4...im prettty ok at it....(if i say so myself..hehe)...i dance like 15 hrs a week....all kinds indian classical, jazz ballet contemporary hiphop n latin...</p>

<p>coldplay is wat i listen too before falling to sleep every night so u can imagin how i envy varun....i like red hot chilly peppers, audioslave, switchfoot..etc to listen to bt hip hop or funk or contemporary when i dance.....</p>

<p>my best frend is my dog...a black lab named shadow....
i love reading, specially stuff by indian authors,salman rushdie,jhumpa lahiri..etc

<p>My name's Maggie, and I'm from Larchmont, NY (a tiny suburb of NYC). I got into Penn ED, but just found out about this forum - which is fantastic since Pennster doesn't open until June!</p>

<p>Anyway, uh... stuff about me. What sucks is that I have school until the waaaaaay end of June, like the 24th or something. However, I just finished my senior paper, so senioritis has officially set in. Um, I have an Irish Terrier named Clio who is the cutest dog ever, I used to fence, I love tennis (though I don't play it very well), and I've just gotten into the whole "gym" thing. </p>

<p>Favorite Movies: The Hunt for Red October, Victor/Victoria, American Beauty, Spider-Man 1/2, Star Wars (the original trilogy), Serenity, Sense and Sensibility, Indiana Jones, and my all time favorite, 12 Angry Men.</p>

<p>Music: Most types of rock (no screamo, sorry): Audioslave, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, The Rasmus, Cream, Led Zepplin, RHCP, Weezer, plus some Mo-Town, some show tunes (Cole Porter).</p>

<p>I think that's enough about me for now. I'd love to get to know you guys, and I can't wait until next fall!</p>

<p>I am Samantha, I'm gonna do Digital Media Design, and I'm from California. I LOVE photography, and I want to join the newspaper staff next year! I'm kind of shy, so I'm worried about making friends, but not too worried. I have a big nose. I work out every day, but to little effect.</p>

<p>I love movies, though I can't list my favorites because I can't decide. I like music, too, but am sadly out of touch with the latest trends, artists, etc. I love Edward Norton and I want to take Jake Gyllenhaal to prom. I come from a school of mostly Asian kids, and so I think they're cool, but I want to meet more white people. </p>
