I appled around mid-December....

Still haven't heard anything. Is this normal? How long do most people have to wait to hear decisions? I applied to the communications school.

I applied Dec. 3 and haven't heard back yet...a girl at my school applied in November and hasn't heard back yet either. When I went for my interview on Dec. 3 (I went home from the interview and submitted my application) my admissions officer said they were really backed up reading the apps. But I called them a couple days ago to make sure my app. was complete and they said I should hear back within 2 or 3 weeks. Good luck

Ohh Ok, thanks glad to know I'm not the only one.

I applied like nov. 15 and still havent heard

Applied on November 1 and received an acceptance letter on Tuesday. Seems pretty slow for rolling admissions.

I hope that you all know that they gap in the financial aid department. On average they meet 65-66% of financial need.

I hate rolling admissions. During my interview my admissions officer told me that they had to waitlist three valedictorians because the space filled up.

If you applied in Oct/Nov timeframe and you haven't heard yet, ask your HS counselor to call admissions and tell them QU is your first choice (ONLY if it is) and they may pull your application from the pile (of thousands) and give you a decision w/in a couple of days. My son did this and it worked.

I applied nov 12 and heard back today...wait listed which is retarded since i got into tcnj with $10,000 per year merit, and northeastern with $14,000 year merit. Good luck...

Fastonice, what are your stats? I think it's weird that you got scholarships to Northeastern but were waitlisted to QU.... what's tcnj?

the college of new jersey,

Stats:
Sat 670 v, 800m, 740w

gpa 3.56 uw, 4.27 w I think im in top 10% maybe top like 11%

extracurriculars track/cross country, speed skating, nhs, mathletes, working, journalism, french club...

aps: currently taking lit, bio, stat, french

psat commended scholar thing

past results:

us govt:3
physics c mech.:4
calc bc:5
psych:5

yes i took like a million honors classes

oh well...i got into mcgill yesterday so its straight!

Fastonice~ good for you! you may be an example of what i've heard before...schools who see an applicant as above their norm will tend to not take them, assuming the kid in question is using them as a safety and wouldn't come anyway. where will you attend?

oh my god what if their class is full and now everyone is waitlisted???!!?? Ok, freaking out over. Well who needs QU when you have lost of money other places :) Well actually I have heard from 6 of my 12 schools so far and I have got merit scholarships to 5 of them. And I still really like QU so I guess I need it lol

yea i mean qu was my safe, ive never even been there. just glad i applied to the other schools early, because if this was the first i heard back from, i would be freaking out right now! From the letter they sent me, i got the impression that they just accepted to many people early on and had stop all admissions for the time being. I think they said they got 15000 apps by the end of november, or something like that. I mean, its whatever, good luck though if you really like it.

I was waitlisted as well when I was expecting a scholarship. 1980 SAT, top 10% of class, 3.64 unweighted GPA, four-time class president, nhs treasurer, student council secretary, mock trial captain, many others. I was disappointed as I was on a roll - my first 6 letters were 6 acceptances with 6 merit scholarship packages. Oh well.
