The top says my letters of recommendation were not received, but the bottom of the page says they were!
I sent my Sat scores in October and CollegeBoard says they were sent on Oct 26!
My counselor sent my transcript, but they dont have it!
This is ridiculous, I applied to 8 other schools and their applications are fine and complete. I better not be punished/removed from Priority because of an issue on their end. What should I do? It has been a month.
From what I recall, the letters of recommendation can be transmitted two ways, so depending on which way they were transmitted (i.e.; electronic upload or paper {mail, fax, etc}) they will be logged into one section of your portal or other. As long as they show received in one location on your account, you are fine.
As for the SAT scores and transcript, other students have reported similar issues due to how their name appears on those official documents compared to the name used on their application (it may be something as simple as using a middle initial or not), so while the documents were in fact received by the university, they were not exact matches, so not assigned to your account/portal. I would check with the admissions office first thing.
I would call admissions right away, my D had this same problem with another school she applied to and it turned out to be a computer glich on their end, it was fixed immediately and she was not penalized for the delay.
Okk, I’ll shoot them an email this weekend
My D2 also has a status for her LOR that says “received” in one place but her app is marked as missing them in another. We haven’t pursued it yet because there is a note stating that due to an overwhelming number of applications, matching up the documents may take some time.
As a side note, my D1 applied two years ago, had her app fouled up, and got disgusted enough to drop UMD from consideration. I’ve heard many, many others say they’ve had problems with applying at UMD – they should probably put more effort into correcting whatever causes these delays!
Re: Recommendation statuses,
On the UMD application portal, on the sidebar to the right it gives this disclaimer:
“PLEASE NOTE: If you have submitted a freshman application, the status of recommendations submitted offline (either on paper or using another online system, such as Naviance) will be listed below the heading of “Other Supporting Documents” in the document tracking area (at left).”
I hope this helps!
