heyy everyone..just wondering your oppinion on whether or not you think i will get into virginia tech early?? i applied as a hospitality managment major...i want to be an event coordinator/wedding planner/hotel manager.

SAT = 1170
GPA = 3.54

Work experience =
1.internship at norfolk scope with the event coordinators last summer
2. job at bide-a-wee catering and event coordinating company since 9/06

Student Government =
1. scribe - 9th grade
2. student body president - 12th grade
(so i was elected to two out of the four availble positions in high school)

Key club - 2 years

excellent reccomendations from my principle and the event coordinators i worked for in the summer.
and also my grandma went there so i guess thats legacy...

i also wrote a personal statement because my father passed away from cancer my sophomore year and as a result my grades were much lower that year...

so anyway..what are your thoughts??
thanks..they will be greatly appreciated:]

hey, i applied ED also, you will get in for sure.

i visited there and loved it, my sister also loves it and shes a senior. they said they are getting many less apps becuase of the tradgedy, especially early descision. i got 1150 on my sat’s and i have a 2.6 on a 4 point scale from a private school. im interested in seeing how they weight it because a 3.54 at my school is unheard of. the geniouses get around a 3.3. and we’re talking about virginia tech here, not harvard, so your fine. apparently they like legacies so im interested in seeing how that plays out for me.

they accepted exactly 50% early decision last year. and i dunno if your a legacy but they filled up 20% of their freshman class with them last year.
