I applied two weeks ago but

I think it’s because I sent 3 SAT Subject scores and they actually do require 2, so it’s okay.

well, technically you can’t really now if they received both through the website, they only thing you can do is call them. btw take a look to this photo, our files are there!!! Web Login Service;

^WHOA!! lr!! ur amazing!!
first of all, u showed me how to check my brown app status
then you show me a pic of the actual files!! which i’ve never seen in my life!! =OOO

but daaaaang look at all of those applicants

i am a secret agent! hahahhhaahhaha just kidding

That photo is amazing. It seriously just made all this real to me. All that competition!

it’s amazing how rare things get lost with all of those papers holy coww

now i’m not gonna take for granted the fact that some schools have already received and processed all of my application materials

i wonder how the boxes are sorted!

maybe in order of increasing SAT score hmmmmmm  (:

the boxes are normally sorted by Last name initial, A-Z.

^ahhh you know everything!!:):)

in some way, hahahaha no it’s just an assumption, i think is the only way they can keep things organized.

duh what happened to my common sense?

sincerely, idk. hehehhe

omg thanks for the photo! thats amazing :open_mouth:
I can’t believe they do it on paper (can you imagine printing those all out and sorting them) makes me nervous- so much room for human error
I thought they would read them on the comp and make decisions electronically. now theres the fear that they’ll toss your app in the 'reject" pile by accident!

WOW 20 adcoms for 30,000 apps?! that’s absurd

and I’m pretty sure most of the other ivies do their electronically…

I did some math in the Harvard forum for reading 30,000 applications by April 1 and came to about 30 minutes per application. A little less than that to leave time for re-reads of some. Now that’s really not that bad considering the huge volume.

I don’t think I trust those people in the picture…they look too young and OMG LOOK AT THE GIRL IN THE GRAY SWEATER SHE’S LAUGHING AT SOMEONE’S SAT SCORES!!!

eta: Why does the gray sweater say Syracuse?

Nevermind, I read the article… it says “Students from Brown and other colleges sort application materials.”

I just LoL’ed at this :D

they should use online means to go thru applications. in the days of slates/tablet pcs, seems
like a picture from the past.

ok, honestly, there is no way they could scrutinize every single application (look at the picture!!)

i’d bet my life that they have a system where some are automatically rejected upon the first glance

ITA, there must be some sort of pre-screening involved.
