Advice: People need to A) know what they are talking about B) verify before giving information out.

"BOA offered Harvard grads 150k guaranteed with a bonus up to 75k (they are trying really hard to recruit new talent)"

There is no way this is true. I know people at BOA, and they are not making anywhere near this first year out of undergrad. Furthermore, BOA will offer Harvard grads the same starting salary they offer everyone else, though bonuses can of course vary.

BOA has increased salaries enormously, but not for undergrads or grad students, its for those with years of experience becuase right now their securities unit is lacking talent since everyone that comes is lured away withing a year or two and they havent been able to increase the deal flows going through their m&a departments.

His justification for the high salaries for recent grads was that in past years BOA has failed to attract top talent because it lacks a bulge bracket name. BOA figures if they get top talent early, it will be much easier for them to establish themselves as a brand name for future talent as well as will help them hold on to some of the talent that they have acquired (even though ibankers have next to no loyalty).
