As part of Harvard's supplement, it asks for the names of your teacher recommenders. It also says "As a courtesy to your teachers, you might provide them with stamped envelopes addressed to Harvard Admissions." This is just if you opt to mail the recs, right? If my teachers submitted them online to CommonApp, Harvard will accept the online recs, aye? Thanks (sorry if this was terribly dumb, just want to double-check everything)

You’re right, if you’re submitting them online then there’s no need for envelopes.

It took me twenty seconds to read that whole thing. Am I stupid?

Okay thanks rebeccar. I don’t know why they phrase it so oddly on the Supplement. Thanks

I think they mean like an end of the year present more. If you get them a nice gift they will remember you better and take more time to write the letter. Thats why they have those collections of things in their rooms. Usually its something with an apple. A paperweight, pencil holder, or jar. I would get something different, but not food. I think it would be kind of cheap if you just got them an envelope and stamps and nothing else. My mom makes Xmas cards for my teachers. Girls always give them flowers.
