I bombed my sophomore year....

I have a SAT score of 2140(800 on math woot), 790 and 800 on SAT II's, took 2 college math classes, scored 5 on AIME, the 9's on my junior year transcript looks pretty damn sexy, and I got 5 on AP Calc and Physics C. And I'm going for MIT and Caltech.

But I bombed my sophomore year.

My freshman year wasn't spectacular but it was ok, but my 2nd year, I don't know what happened but I just sucked at everything. I mean I still ruled everyone at school in math competitions. But almost all of my classes I got 80's and in english I got 75. Then I moved to a new town and I started getting 90's again.

How much is that going to hurt me? Are they going to think that I got 90's because I moved to a crappier school?

I’m in a similar situation, but I didn’t change schools, just I had a sophomore slump. But hopefully they’ll see that I managed to have an upwards trend from there.

Magical words: upward trend
In some cases that might actually tell more about you than a constant 5.0 right from the start.

*thank god
