I'm a senior and I took my last SAT on Nov.

I got a 700 on the Math secrion (which is pretty good, imo)

BUT I got a...a... freaking 410 on the Critical Reading!! X__X

I aiming for an Engineering degree on the colleges I applied to, but will this critical reading score keep me from getting accepted to colleges? Do most colleges have a minimum requirement for SAT scores?

Btw- I've been taking Adv and AP English all throughout high school and have been getting A's and B's in them. But the SAT makes me look stupid in English.

Oh and I need to send my scores to additional colleges, how long will that take? My deadlines are Jan 15th.

but a lot of times schools with Jan1 deadlines still accept January SATs... a bunch of my schools do. so it's definitely worth emailing your schools to check.

i used to get around 400s in my sat verbal. but i practiced and raised it up to 750

How long did you practice for? For strategies did you use? Did you take a prep course? What materials did you use? How many hours/day did you practice?

Please try your best to answer these questions, because I am scoring in the 400s as well and would like to raise that to a 600+ by May. Thanks.

I came from 470 to 640 with just practice. Use the Real 10 Read book with the passages to get use to what they ask and blue book for the writing and math. Use Red book for some math too, especially the hard ones. but i did okay overall. Bad according to this site... but okay.
