i bunch of random question!

My dad is soo apprehensive about everything, and i don't have an answer to give him, so hopefully you can help me out so he can stop bothering me. Here it goes:

1.When is the last day to get to school???? Aug 19th right??
2. When can we start moving in?
3. and the payments?? i know there is a monthly payment option, i assume you pay just once for the whole semester and it's at the beginning of the the semester right?
4. How long does orientation last?
5. When do school officially start excluding the orientation? like classes?

I'll take 4 and 5:
Orientation starts when you get your key and goes on forever. Jk. Til Sunday night. But the weekend seems to go so very slowly. Classes start that Monday after you arrive (Aug 25).

As for 1 &2 I'm not sure but I believe you can apply for early move in on the 19th or come on the 20th.

Hey, great to see another Central Floridian braving the frozen tundra. If you're in Newhouse there's a decent chance you're one of my advisees.

so the official move in day is aug 20th???? where can i apply for the early move in? do i have to pay extra???

yeah, im trying out the cold weather, syracuse seems to the be best one huh... lol. which part of FL are you from????

Lots of info here, lb....send it to yout Dad; it will calm him down...haha

Syracuse Welcome 2008

I believe the last day to move in is the 21st. Then the 22nd, we host the Orange Blast for freshmen students and the following Monday, classes begin.

There are early move in days but you'll find that out eventually. You'll get a packet telling you how you can get your move-in pass and with it, you'll find out when you can move in and almost everything you need to know about moving in.

I'm on the monthly payment plan and as it says, you pay every month. If you owe X dollars a semester, divide X by the number of months in the semester and you get your payment plan. Or you can choose not to use the payment plan and pay the dues in full in a single payment.

If you apply to transfer from another college at SU to Newhouse, does anyone know when you hear the verdict? And is it by mail, or e-mail?

I know somebody just found out this month. A- average.

Ok..did they find out via e-mail? Or postal mail?

Orientation feels like forever. Half the events on your schedule will be pointless and redundant. So if you have more important things to do don't worry, you won't be missing anything.

Throw out the Ready Set pack, its like a television manual, you don't really need it. Most of the info is common sense. It's easier to just ask questions and learn as you go along.

Unless you have a vagina, the first 2-3 weeks are probably the easiest times you'll have finding/getting into a party during your freshman year so enjoy it. LOL.

Oh, and i suggest memorizing these lines before you get there...

"HEY, HEY YOU. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. YOU GOTTA ROLE WITH THE ORANGE AND JAM WITH THE BLUE !!! "

...so you know to run away as fast as you can when you hear it.

and DO NOT buy season tickets for football. lolololol
