what i meant is that its highly unlikely that cornell will not be using mid yr reports

OH. i was totally thinking that :| but um, yeah. i hope the info i gave was useful!!

Err, the info you gave seems to pertain to 2nd semester grades, not first. I don't see how the midyear report can be part of the application, yet not be included in the decision-making process.

my mid year report is my best set of grades in my junior+senior year... it would be sad if its not used : (

Okay, maybe they use the mid year reports, maybe they don't. I am just telling you what I was told. Perhaps this applied only to my application and maybe I had already been rejected so my mid year report would not be a factor anyway.

Remember, this was not a general question I asked. Actually, I did not ask the question, she volunteered the info. The lady had my file right there in front of her (on the computer) and she said I did NOT have to ask my h.s. to send another copy of my mid-year report because it would not be used in the decision making process. So maybe she was referring only to my mid-year report and application.

Thank you for posting your info. We're simply discussing, in this thread, the validity of this information and its effects on our applications, and some of us are skeptical. Don't feel offended.

I don't feel offended. Hey, I find it rather odd myself! That is why I posted the info.

i doubt its not looked at it... i mean i could understand if they make a decision without the midyear report (if it gets lost, or is not available), but if they have it processed why wouldnt they look at it?

at u of r, the midyear is required, however, with the volume of applications this year if they dont process it in time, a decision is made without it.
