I'm taking the barrons math 2 practice tests and the questions get so hard after number 20 or so. It takes me much longer than 1 hour to finish.

Is this a bad sign?

I'm taking the barrons math 2 practice tests and the questions get so hard after number 20 or so. It takes me much longer than 1 hour to finish.

Is this a bad sign?

Likely so. I never used Barron’s, but many people here say it is a bit harder than actual subject tests. Even if so, it shouldn’t be significantly harder. Time pressure is definitely an issue, and it’ll take some getting used to.

Barron is a little harder than other books but noway out of comparison to Maths IIC (never given IIC,will give, but heard that if you get a 750-60 on Barrons, you have the ability to get 800 on actual).

One does not prepare for tests with problems that are easy and he/she can easily solve.
If you want to prepare for tests, you have to go out of your comfort zone and solve much difficult question then generally available.

If you can solve all the problems but take more time then time management is solution, if you aren’t able to solve then that’s whole another issue.

just a correction

I don’t think harder problems necessarily help either. Its most important to get familiar with the actual type of questions that will be on the test.

Figure out why you’re having problems. Is there are a certain part of the material that you don’t know well enough? If so, take a break from practice tests and learn it. Careless mistakes? Find a method that works for you to avoid them - the most important part of this is identifying that as a problem and working on it. Time management? Do a lot of tests starting with extra time and working your way down to less than the amount you’ll have on the actual tests.

If you approach this methodically you can definitely boost your score.

Actually maths IIC is more a test of “Can you use a GDC proficiently?” rather than “Can you do Maths properly” so unable to move after question 20 is a serious issue and that being said, you need to practice much much more. (Barrons is a little tougher therefore see if you can procure a Kaplan or Princeton Review)
